He still wanted to pay an FFL to make the transfer. His money, so I didn't mind. He was stealing the guns from me, so he didn't lose too much.

I'm still sorta new to WA state, how do I go about selling a handgun to someone? I have a CPL/WA ID. My understanding of 594 is that it's a normal background check as if you were buying/transferring a firearms from an FFL.

Yep. Meet the buyer at an FFL that does transfers. (Personally, I always like Rehv Arms, Pantel Tactical and Brad's Guns, but there are lots of others. We even have a list around here somewhere...)
The FFL will usually want to see your ID and the ID/CPL of the buyer. They'll run the standard 4473 for the buyer and then tell when it all goes through and you go home. Easy peasy.
Most FFLs will do it for around $25. Any more than that and it's probably worth driving somewhere else.

Just as a FYI, I had a transfer go bad because the buyer (a very nice fellow on active military duty) did not have ID that indicated his current residence.
