One freaking tripwire and landmine after another going on. The Washington CPL is not accepted by Oregon, so if you (as a WA resident) want to carry in Oregon then you need to get the Oregon CHL.

I head down a couple times a year. Always hated disarming for the trip. I probably should get my OR permit someday, but I'm more concerned about how things are changing locally for now.

Open carry doesn't require a permit in most of* Oregon and loaded OC in a vehicle is allowed. I know OC isn't everyone's cup of tea but wanted to throw it out there as an option until you get your CHL.
*Some cities have put a ban on unlicensed carry so check local laws. Portland is one, there are about a dozen in total if memory serves.

Also most non-resident permits require you to have a permit for your home state first. When I sent off for my AZ permit I had to send a copy of my WA CPL. Attached OR OC handout.
