Flying into Seattle, driving across WA? Any issues?

Later this month I'll be picking up a vehicle in Seattle and driving it back to Tennessee. My TN permit covers me in every state along my route EXCEPT Washington state. Based on the research that I've done (WA state website, WSP, etc), it looks like it's legal for me to carry my firearm (unloaded, locked in a hard case) in my vehicle on my way through Washington. Correct? Also, is there any issue flying into Seattle with a firearm in checked baggage? I can't imagine here would be, but I just wanted to make sure.

Next, are there any limitations on magazine size or anything else that would hinder my ability to legally transport my G19 (15 rnd mag) through WA in my locked hard case?

I just want to make sure I'm following the letter of the law. The WA state website seems to be fairly clear on the legality to transport, I just have some concerns about the physical trip into Seattle and the magazine capacity.

Thanks!
-Brian

Not a lawyer, but as far as my understanding goes, you are all set.

You are good to go. 3 days to navigate traffic out of Seattle, 2 days to drive to Tennessee.

Watch out for cyclists and homeless people, the moving speed bumps of the urban ghetto.

Not legal advice, but your plan appears sound to me.

If you need to, you might look into open carry (not in a vehicle though). WA is an open carry state as long as you aren't in any way concealing the gun (including in a vehicle).

Have situational awareness. The western part of the state is more leftists and anti-gun, and more densely populated with higher crime rates. NO valuables should be left in a car and especially in plain view. They will get stolen.

No current mag or pistol bans in WA, thankfully. Your G19 with standard mags are fine.

Also, never give legal consent to searches.

Safe travels.

You’ll be fine. Just don’t conceal a loaded handgun, which includes having a loaded handgun in a vehicle.

No need to lock up the gun when in the vehicle. Just don’t load the gun, you’ll be good.

If you choose to open carry, consider carrying with a loaded mag but without one in the chamber. Drop the mag when you get into the car, and you’re good. (The pistol will no longer be loaded.)

WA is the only state on your route that doesn't except TN CPL. When you check your bag make sure you declare the firearm, and it needs to be unloaded and locked in a hard side case. You will sign a little piece of paper promising that it is unloaded. When you get to Seattle go to the baggage claim office at the far end of the airport to pick up your bag. It will get taken off the baggage carousel before it gets to you. You need to show your ID to get your bag.

Yeah, good points. No traffic infractions whatsoever. Don't speed. Don't have a single drink. Don't fail to yield or use signals, etc...
