Cut the foam and then reverse it in the case. All the sharpie marks are now underneath and the top is clean.


I have gone with the reversed sharpie technique before, but I find it easier and cleaner using the paper templates to lay out all the pieces and get it all straight. Then I can hold the wire to the edge of the paper to get nice clean straight lines.

I used a electric carving knife that had a shitty on off button. So not only was holding the "trigger" down problematic, one had to ensure they were keeping the blades perpendicular while wrestling with a length of foam. Very challenging.

I'm going to build a wire cutter as you have done.
