Nicely done - how did we ever get anything done before youtube? Recently I've viewed videos to disassemble the bolt on my VZ-58 and how to butcher a deer. Took the laptop to the garage and all. PS - I still don't know how to butcher a deer. What an embarassing mess. But top work on the 1911!

Its crazy how much there is on that site. Takes a while to wade through it, but there can be some great stuff. I know how to work on my Mosin as well from watching videos. I used to spend lots of time watching photography stuff in my past hobby, as well as anything you want to buy, theres a review....

YouTube and Google haver become such a daily part of peoples lives, it's almost sad (and scary) to imagine a time where we do not have it..
Reminds me of that one Survivor episode (I think season 2 or 3), where the guy was constantly playing with his imaginary blackberry...

Thanks for posting those, oly. I'm going to need them here, real soon. gwaugh wrote: Nicely done - how did we ever get anything done before youtube? Yeah, seriously. I've asked myself that many, many times -- especially related to firearms. When I first bought my Garand I completely disassembled it and had it lying on the table in about 30 pieces and had a "OMG WTF" moment. Youtube to the rescue! And many, many other times as well.

Just a quick tip, the wife hasn't always approved of some of the tips I've picked up from certain other videos.

Please remember: YouTube is not a replacement for an actual gun smith.
Glad you got the Kimber back together, Damon.

Glad you got the Kimber back together, Damon. No? I learned on Youtube that i can put a penny under the sear spring on my Mosin so when I slam the bolt I dont even have to pull the trigger, so thats like a 0 pound trigger! lol. Def good advice B!. Anything over strip and clean on the 1911 is for sure going to someone I know who works on them.

It only takes a little practice, and patience

And tonight, I too lost my virginity. Thanks, olydemon! Perhaps I should clarify. Thank you, olydemon, for the links to the videos. I got my RIA Tactical taken down and put back together without even damaging anything! The safety was kind of a bitch to get out, but I even managed to conquer that. And in fact, the 1911 was actually relatively simple compared to some of my other guns.
