Good Afternoon gents,

I have an old metric FAL kit that i picked up a few a few years ago and never got to building and was thinking of getting it going. I own a DSA and love that one and was wanting to make this one more original as it has the wood furniture and maybe just clean it up. This kit is one of the ones that left the demilled upper peice on the barrel and I was wondering if anyone has any insight into how to remove it without doing damage to the barrel. Thank for any insight or suggestions you may have I will post pics tomorrow to give a better idea of what I am talking about.

What you will need is a receiver clamp and a barrel wrench.
I made both when I did my metric build. The barrel wrench only lasted one build.
But the receiver clamp is still functional.
If you can get your hands on a barrel wrench Ill lone you my receiver clamp.
I also have .308 head space gages that you will probably need.

Where are you guys getting the locking pins from?
I have a FAL that I got as a 3/4 built job but it still needs the locking pin fitted, and a new safety to meet 922r

By locking pin you mean what the bolt head spaces off of?
My kit was all matching numbers. I got lucky and everything fell into place.
I built mine a long time ago so Im kinda out of the loop on FAL Parts.
Do you not have one? Or is it just that your head space is off?

The imbel kit that was received had that section chopped out so the old pin never existed.
I have been going back and forth on doing the work myself, or sending it to DSA. But I need the parts, gauges and tools.

survivor you are awesome i will look into making or ordering a barrel wrench and get with you. To make Mine 922 I was planning on buying a good bit of internals and possibly a new barrel from DSA although it seems like a damn waste to leave all these perfectly good parts unused.
