Anyone used DuraCoat clear?

just wondering if anyone has ever used the DuraCoat clear on any of their weapons? I was thinking of picking up a can to not only go over the camo finish I have on my AR, but also to go over some of the metal on a pistol slide I just had milled. I like the contrast of the polished flats versus the bluing, but I obviously don't want to leave the bare metal exposed to the elements as I doubt its stainless steel.
