I had two lowers sent to private sector arms,I called 1st to ask what the transfer fee was going to be,I must have or just maybe thought they said it would be $35, I figured since I ordered two at the same time it would have been just $35 cause they can put up to 5 serial numbers on one form...wel picked them up today and low and behold, for a low price of $70 bucks for the transfer fee I was kinda disappointed,I understand they need to make money, but $35 to write down an extra 8-10 numbers on the same form seems kinda high.. Seems like a great place, the owner seems to be a really good guy,I'm just a little disappointed they charge so much. I'm not sure but I think there's acouple other shops that don't charge for each lower..

Just to make sure there's no confusion . . . your experience above is transferring a firearm that was sent to the FFL for you to pick up. This thread is related to private party transfers, so the policies will be different. As noted in our list in the OP, Private Sector Arms does not do private party transfers.

But yes, for your situation with the lowers, there are some FFLs that would have charged you a single fee for the two lowers.

I didn't see anything listed for the Burien or Tukwila area.
Anyone know anything?

West Coast Armory charges $50 for transfers.

"The transfer fee consists of a standard $50.00 plus Washington State use tax of 9.5%."

West Coast Armory in Factoria only charged me $25 last week for a private party transfer.
No tax.

My mistake! Wrong thread. The $50 is for out-of-state transfers.

Welcome to WaGuns! Thanks for the info; I'll update the other thread.

I'll also add this little gem from the WCA web page:
Quote:
If WCA is able to locate the identical firearm there will be an additional 10% transfer fee for the transaction.

I.e., if you could have bought it from them instead of transferring it in, then they'll charge you a 10% fee. In my most unbiased administrator opinion . . . fuck that.

Ah . . . the WCA info (including the 10%) is already in the other thread. No work required on my part. Perfect.
