Are Constitutional Rights Subject to Poll Results?
A recent online survey conducted last month by the Oregon Values and Beliefs Center in Portland revealed “nearly 60% favored stricter federal gun regulations, and 56% said the same about the state’s regulations.”

Simple answer, no. If 51% of Americans wanted to reinstate slavery would we?

Constitution > polls. You don't get to vote on certain things, either through initiatives or via your elected officials.
Direct democracies have a history of failure even worse than communism. Once 51% realize they can vote away the rights and wealth of the 49%, it all falls apart.
No, Switzerland doesn't have a pure direct democracy, but it's the closest thing we have today. They also have a very strong sense of national identity and a single culture. Their model would be a disaster here or in any other country where voting blocks have been set up purely on the basis of race, ethnicity, or creed. The left wants a national initiative process because it gets around the Electoral College and the Senate, both of which are naturally biased against simple head count.

Keep throwing elections to the communists and they will take away the guns. Take your case to court and find out what happens when they get to appoint all of the judges.
Some are going to bluster online about an uprising, remember that they kept their heads down during the riots in 2020. Communists were burning cities and then they took over the country. The only guy who fought back was a 17yo kid in Kenosha.
Y'all better get active in politics, Vote, and get like minded people to vote.

Unfortunately, in a democratic country where votes can change public policies and laws.
Enough spin and money can change and alter Freedom people wish to vote away.
The hot button years ago… “It’s for the children”
Now the Right has money backing PR agencies and anti gun groups to fund a huge effort to taint Freedom.
It’s a wonder as the public is being coerced into giving away their Freedom so they can socially be more moral than…
These are bad signs for more anti-gun laws to come.

Would suck to be a minority of any kind, wouldn't it? You see this often attributed to Ben Franklin, but there's no evidence to it. The concept is still true; Quote: "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."
