San, the Old Faithful of Greenwater cleanups! :mulletslayer:

Any particular toys anyone is bringing?

I think I need to break the cherry of my Omega 9K suppressor, either with the Scorpion or Kriss. Or both. I have a handful of initial reloads for the Desert Eagle, I'll need to see if that sucker works too.

I'll be there as well. It has been a long week at work and it would do me well to get out of the house for a bit.

I won't be bringing much. The last AR-9 SBR i got i haven't shot yet, the Cetme to test before i sell it, my sons 20 Ga pump, his H&K MP-5 .22 and a couple new pistols.

I can't find my damn clay pigeon throwers, so if anyone has one bring it along please.

I may be a little late, i have to run to Orting to get usrifle-jr then head up there.

The truck in the clearing is about 5 yards, right? And the white PU W/trailer at the pit is about another 5. That's 10 yards or better! A good haul in one day. Pit and clearing looks great! Nice work!

Any ambush action? If so, did they join you or just get pissed?

Sorry for the slow update, this fat pencil-pusher was a zombie last night. :crybaby:

We had a really good day out there, with good representation from both the Forest Service and WaGuns. From WaGuns we had:

MADrtcw
STED9R and his son
Spokepoker
San
usrifle
usrifle-jr
Moktor
ToothWheel
and me.

Did I forget anyone?

And yes, we did get a little "ambush action" but not too much; there weren't that many shooters there. Most of them did pitch in and help, though, which is always cool. thumbsup

We started at the clearcut area at FS 7013. It looks like the Forest Service made a good start to the modifications there, but they still have some changes to make:

- Add pipes to the drainage ditch and then fill it in where you enter and exit the parking area . . . so normal vehicles can actually get in there.
- Add more maps and signage to indicate the new firing line.

Because some folks are using the new firing line, and others are continuing to use the whooooole length of the old firing line, the trash was pretty well spread out. I didn't get a good "before" pic, but here are some in-work pics:

And I put up a couple of our WaGuns signs:

Then we headed up to the area formerly known as the "lower pit" (now the "only pit," haha) on FS 70.

And then . . . when we were done working . . . we broke out the toys. :thumbsup2: All photos below are courtesy of usrifle-jr.

Here's the cleaned pit with our steel targets:

This is Spokepoker sniping enemy clay pigeons:

^ See how beautiful the weather was?! Well, the weather was a real flip-flopper yesterday, it swing between sunny and rainy multiple times. Here's me, ToothWheel and MADrtcw shooting in the rain:

And then it was nice again, here's usrifle, me, MADrtcw and ToothWheel:

It was a good day, and we're already planning the next one: Saturday, July 8th! Come join us. :cheers2:

I didn't even think to take pictures. We were all working too hard for that I guess. Shoutout to sans; he came down right after work, didn't bring anything to shoot or stay to shoot with us. Just cleaned up and went home, now that is dedication to the cause.

We had about 15-20 people? including the forest service crew. Took a few hours to get it all cleaned up, longer than we would all like but this was the first clean of the season . I would like to tip the balance towards more of a group shoot at these cleanups in the future.

Both sites have been altered for better target shooting experience and as of right now the 7013 forest clearing is still a work in progress, very muddy but there are still improvements in the works. The 70 pit has had parking expanded, other than that it's the same pit as always.

The forest service would like to have more regular cleanups scheduled monthly but we just don't have enough people willing to do monthly cleans so we're hoping to do every other month. If we cleaned more it would end up being more of a group shoot though. I'm sure Steve will chime in add whatever I missed- oh looks like he already has.
