Let me preface this by saying I'm not actually committed to buying one of these Surefire 100-rd AR-15 mags (model# MAG5-100)...yet. I have one of their 60-rd mags and love it, so the idea of a 100-rd is intriguing. However, it is pretty freaking long; I'm not sure how I feel about it hanging off the bottom of my AR. But then I came across this Gunbroker listing, which is $320 w/ free shipping for 3 of these 100-rd mags. So that's less than $110 each. As I recall, they were selling for over $400 each post-Sandy Hook. icon_eek

So, what says the forum? Is it a good buy, if for nothing else than to resell later when the Dems eventually regain full control of Washington DC and attempt to ram through a magazine ban (not "if", but "when")? Or is it a waste of money?

If the consensus ends up being it's a good buy, I'll be looking for 2 more members to go in on it with me...

Well, to be quite honest, I'd rather spend that $110.00 on 30 round Mil.Spec. mags.
However, as a investment option, I remember when blokes were paying over $50.00 for P-Mags a few years ago.

Not to side track you, but have you considered the Xproducts drum mags? I think we have done group buys with them before.

I agree that the money would go MUCH farther with 30-rd mags, but I have more than enough of those, so I'm looking at other options.

I haven't, for the reason that joao01 posted. I did own a Beta C-mag drum, but even empty it was super heavy. That has been my experience with all drums, but the Surefire design makes it much lighter, which is part of the intrigue.

Sounds like the option to buy is on. So I guess my question is, is there a reason I shouldn't buy one? Are they just a novelty? Lemons, perhaps? Something else better out there? If not, I'll probably go for it.

The listing says "Buyer will have option to purchase more at a discount", so I have asked the seller what it would cost to add an extra mag (or two).

Mags have been ordered! I'll be in touch with everyone separately to work out payment/delivery.
