300 CETME/CIA C308 magazines for $300+$100 shipping: https://www.jgsales.com/c308-and-cetme- ... 02189.html

That works out to about $1.35 per magazine. With the current climate and pending mag bans, this is the time to jump on a good deal.

I have too much on my plate to organize or fund a group buy, but I figure if 4-6 people were interested and someone leads it, I may also be interested. Stack about 50-75 mags away.

From my research, Cetme mags *probably* work in the PTR91, with the majority of reports online claiming they do. But some claim to have had problems.

Reply to this thread, and if someone might take lead on this that would be great.

Nice deal, I remember ordering 500 G3 mags for $1/each about 10 years ago.

Bump. We would probably need a few other people at say $50 to $100 each to make this happen.

For anyone interested in more information, Reddit has a decent thread on a similar deal (https://www.reddit.com/r/gundeals/comments/9rxzcl/magazine_surplus_g3hk91c308_mags_5pack_of_grade_3/):

Quote:

Hope you like 20 round magazines, because you can have 20 or you can have 20...

Just in case you don't know the Spanish CETME Models B & C rifles in 7.62x51mm (not the model L) , HK's 91 and H&K G-3 , the CAI C308, and the .308cal/7.62x51mm PTR family all use interchangeable magazines . *Minor fitting may be required especially with CETMEs magwells due to various (lack of) quality control issues by various builders. Rifles are finicky, the mags are not.

While the G-3/91 mags in the aluminum(truly intended to be expendable items) used to cost from $0.99-$1.99 and steel from $1.99 to $2.99 , the actual Cetme mags were way more. Varying wildly from $8 to $20+ over the years. They have fallen in price as the CETMEs have dried up. We can now buy better Cetme mags for way less than we could back in the "surplus golden era". Cetme owners used the cheaper G-3 mags to save money because the Germans based their design of the Spanish. Which the CAI C308 and PTR are based of the HK G-3/91, so family tree compatibility.

Plus nothing is cooler than having HK 91/G-3 magazines from the month and year you were born in for your gun.

Yes yes those discounted mags...

The CETME mags are as low as $0.99 each at 300+ from J & G Sales. The shipping kills the deal somewhat but for what you getting it isn't unreasonable. These are CETME B & C Steel Magazines with the right side steel reinforcement plate. So there is some extra steel weight & beef to each magazine on top of the beefier mag. These won't have dates on them like the German mags.

The multiple price breaks are

10+ $3.95
50+ $2.95
100+ $1.95
300+ $0.99

http://www.jgsales.com/c308-and-cetme-2 ... -2415.html Link lets you pick how many.

The cheapest are H&K 91/G-3 mags in Aluminum which are light weight. There are also steel G-3 mags which are about double(a buck or two higher, grade affects price also) but have the added strength and less likely to bend their feed lips. Steel runs double the aluminium mags usually.

I would also suggest put yourself on the back in stock notice for if Classic Arms put out another run of https://www.classicfirearms.com/c308-ce ... oters-pkg/ which was $90. The 25 mags wasn't the best of the deal, with only 1 double magazine pouch( 25 into 2 slots wtf? why?) those was like 49 cents most places. The Magazine loader is the gold of deal. Which is a block of steel which weighs 5-8lbs in and of it self , the price dances around $60/75-$125+ for it alone. You don't know how much you need it until after you used it.

There aren't beater bulk packs in stock right now but RTG sells off boxes of dented and less pretty mags for cheap. https://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/Mags ... es-c24.htm is the H&K page for G-3/91 This example is what the bulk mags box is like showing an uzi mag bulk box, see comments on how GTG they are. https://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/50-P ... 4p2818.htm

Sadly there doesn't seem to be any of the old solid 30 or 40 rounder mags in stock. The real South African and/or Dutch ones,to turn you onto. Not the welded together mags or the new drums.

Ironically the 5 and 10 rounds magazines cost more than the 20 rounds. You're better off cutting down your own.

HKpros has a thread on aluminum vs steel G3 magazines, thread is 4 years old so YMMV, https://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-long-gun-talk/221999-reliability-steel-vs-aluminum-g3-mags.html

PM me if you're interested but not in a large quantity. Site supporters will get this for cost per magazine, at the time of purchase, until the thread/group buy is closed.

So with 300 total two of the three of us opting for over 50 get 75 or we could split it up further.

I'm fine with whatever works, personally.

Also kalopsia message me for my share when we figure out exact figures.
