My experience using the Aquila and Servicios Aventuras small pistol primers did not go well. Hand priming no problem. The issue was using them on a Hornady Progressive press. The Aguila do not seat properly, too high. The other ones seem to not operate the primer slide correctly. Too much bother to ever buy again for an AP press. Now I know why there available. Just my two cents. Too make sure it wasn’t the equipment setup I ran 100 CCI through it no problem. Anyone else run into problems?

My thinking is if they work in a hand primer then the problem has to be press related. Could well be the lack of feel you have with the press verses hand priming.

Thanks for making the thread, it’s good to get input like this about the new-to-us primer brands. I haven’t tried either of them yet myself.

I was really leery about buying these or the Ginex (Bosnia and Herzegovina) but really needed them a few months ago when they were available for a better than local price. I use the RCBS APS to prime all my brass, primed 900 9mm the other day with only one problem and that was a crimped primer pocket. I do not trust a press to do it right 100%.

I bought 5,000 of the Servicios Aventuras small pistol and so far have loaded 600 on a Dillon 550 without any issues and yes they have all ignited as they should.

I’ve found firing depends on the pistol being used. They fire 100% of time using my CZ 97B, but don’t using my DW 1911. The firing pin does not puncture the primer, just leaves a dent on it.
