Before I (potentially) get into the caliber, I know we have some .50BMG shooters here :snipersmilie: . I'm sure we have people who have weighed reloading vs stocking factory loaded. What did you choose and why?

If factory, what factory offerings do you trust for precision?

If reloading, what press and dies did you go with?

For general blasting and pen capabilities, do you recommend AP or API?

Any BMG reloading websites I should look at? I've reviewed 50bmgshootersupply.com. That's about it. Thanks ya'll

Definitely reloading. If you stick to factory for the big .50, you'd better have deep pockets. REALLY deep.

I got lucky, and purchased 400 rounds of linked M33 ball for $100.00 a can. Lots of cases, thus reloading components.

Best bargain is what I have--the Lee Classic Cast press. It will load .50 with no problem. Lee dies are also good for reloading this caliber.

Remember, when you're shooting the .50 you are talking about a whole other universe of penetration. There is NOTHING that you would encounter normally that cannot be defeated by a 650 grain FMJ bullet. Moreover, when you start talking about AP and API, there is no range--to the best of my knowledge--in this State that will allow them to be fired.
