Ever seen a case like this? Broke the depriving pin off my die. It has 2 small holes in the end.

That sir is a berdan primer. Those will get you every time. Trash, unless it’s a very odd caliber. It requires special primers. There are a few ways to get them out.

Exactly. Recycle it.

What caliber?

You'll mostly find Berdan cases in older Euro/Commie ammo.

Yeah, a lot of milsurp .308/7.62x51 is Berdan. Better check the rest of your brass before you get rolling again.

You’ll also commonly see them in surplus 7.62x39, 8mm Mauser, etc.

Less commonly (but even worse because it’s unexpected), I’ve seen them in 9mm and .223.

And a lot of 7.62x54R Mosin food. A good portion of that is steel cased so you're unlikely to reload it, but I've also seen brass cased Berdan primed shells.

I picked up a bunch of range brass up at the Darrington pit a few weeks ago. A little over three hundred & fifty pieces of 7.62 x51 had Boxer primers.
Around seventy or so had Breidian primers.
I took a flashlight and looked inside the cases to seperate them.

A couple months ago I received 200 Pakistani Manufactured M2 Ball ammo (in M1 Garand Spring Clips) from my Uncles Estate. I pulled it all down. It was all Berdan primed. Saving grace was I got 200 150 Grain 30 Cal FMJ And 25 Spring Clips. I sold the clips at a yard sale for $50. Almost cost me me a Decapping Pin as well.

I too picked up and traded 200 cases that wound up being berdan primed, they were 762x39. icon_eek
Traded with barfly but I made good on it to both our satisfaction. :thumbsup2:
