I ran tens of thousands of rounds thru the LnL and loved it, still do and recommend it to people to this day. My favorite part is the LnL function itself being able to put in or swap individual dies is really handy imho. I had issues with a few brands of primers causing jams, If the anvil stuck up a certain amount it would catch and not let the primer feed plate cycle, or would flip the primer. But that was easy enough, just didn't buy those brands and the problem stopped. The nice thing about the primer system though was that if you cycled the press and did not use the primer then it stayed in the feed until you finally used it, unlike the next pres. This was handy when setting up for a run and dialing in powder and running brass up/down testing drop weight.
Pro: Individual die lugs and placement, no toolheads needed. Available press only, press and case feed or full ammo plant with bullet feeder. Cheaper base press than the dillon 650/700.
Con: Finicky on some primers, causing flipped or unfed primers. Case feed mechanism can be finicky at times.

Then one day Marcus listed a xl650 for sale with case feeder and one caliber kit. It was a little older unit with some rounds thru it, but it was for a great price so I snagged it and an extra caliber change kit. I was not looking for a new press but the price he had it I could flip it and break even or even make a few bucks. The dillons are def a special unit. They have their issues and there are a few things I like more about the LnL. But the Dillon from a cycling/indexing standpoint is just a great unit. Literally indexes and cycles like a sewing machine, smooth and silky. That is what sold me on the dillon right off the bat. I think it comes down to the linkage ratios and then the slider for indexing the shell plate.
Pro: Press cycling/indexing runs like a sewing swiss clock. Case feed mechanism is smooth and consistent. Press plus case feed roughly same $ as comparable LnL.
Con: Primer ejected every cycle of the press, used or not. Primer issues can potentially cause cascade primer firing. No factory bullet feed option. Base press more expensive than LnL. Conversion kits are a touch more expensive.

I opted to stay with the Dillon. I added some ebay toolheads, 3d printed primerfeed stop, as well as bearing indexer and case feed rod. Then I bought a 3d printed bullet feeder setup to round it out. I still miss the LnL at times, but I bought a rockcrusher and put a LnL receiver in it and use it for any one at a time processes or mid run fixes.

i used to reload here and there and found the act of it relaxing with the side benefit being having ammo. that said i only had a lee 4 hole turret and loved it. only did a couple calibers. super easy to set up. can still crank out a couple hundred rounds while enjoying your space and is pretty hard to screw it up. if i can find components again i plan on getting back into it. progressives scare me tbh. but obviously millions of people have made them work without issue.

I have been buying used presses. I have been remodeling our 10ft x 14ft shed for my reloading area. I had a 100amp electric service put in out there. I will have 30 foot of reloading bench. I have two Hornaday single-stage Lock n Load presses set up in a walk in closet upstairs.
I have a AC unit and a 220 volt electric wall heater and I will be installing a old trash burner wood stove. I should have it all done next month.
For out in the shed I have another Hornady single-stage press, a Hornaday AP Progressive, a Dillon 650, a Redding T-7 turret press, two RCBS RockChucker presses. One will be use for screw in dies, the other will be set up with the Hornaday Lock n Load adapter, I bought a Lee press kit for $35 that I will get set up can't remember if it a turret or progressive And a real cheap lee single -stage press

I will get them all set and when someone wants to get into reloading they can come over and try them all and see what press they like before they buy one.

There will be enough room & presses for three or four people can reload at the same time.

I have a bunch or powder measures and scales. Six trimmers RCBS & Lyman, a rcbs case prep machine, a Hornaday electronic power measure and I will be buying a RCBS electronic powder measurer.
I also have a buttload of dies. If I don't have what somebody needs to Load at my place I will buy that caliber to add to the collection.

Time & money, well worth the investment. I have bought a lot of stuff from Mark in Olympia, from Mudflat Mike in Lake Steven's, at gunshots, off the gun forums, from ebay.
Every month I buy reload stuff. Just bought another set of Ohaus balance beam scales and another Hornady powder measurer and twoore die sets.
