I just won an auction for $80 per 1000 for 2000 total, cci 400. Local auction.
I got skeered because my 223 ammo handloads fell under 5000 count.
So, those previous 5000 cost me .23 cents a round to make. (.3 cents a primer)
The next batch of 2000 will cost me .30 cents a round to make. (Add another .5 cents a primer)
Real life problems....

Wow. $80 / brick? That's actually a REALLY good deal right now.
They're running 130-150 right now everywhere else.
And even $77 plus shipping plus hazmat directly from Brownell's or Natches.

I still have 1000 55 gr and 1600 62 gr projectiles I bought 14 months ago for cheap while everyone else was panicked by ass wipe. And 8 lbs of Win 748, which is a good substitute for CFE 223.

Brownells occasionally has SPP for 75 a brick...but the hazmat is huge.

Real life problems.... Like Rutilate said, better than the alternative. I know people (newbies) are paying the $125-150 because that’s the going rate but those of us in the know ain’t havin it.

I am out of state hunting for another two & a half weeks and stopped by a decent size family owned local gun store today. They had around thirty boxes of the #41 small rifle primers for $89.99 a box plus tax so I called my son who lives about fifty miles from the gun store and asked him if he wanted any which he did. They were $97 & change after tax, but he figured better have them because they very seldom get any type of primers in.. If they were down to around $50 to $60 a box I would of bought around ten of them. If any one needs any I will be going out hunting that way again here shortly. They are expensive, but atleast they have them.
