Hey there experts, going through some stuff I inherited and found a bunch of these 7.62x39. I'm not a reloader, but guessing these are reloads? Any input appreciated.

The very opposite of reloads. Eastern Europe loves them some red lacquer to seal their ammo against moisture. Steel cases aren't reloadable.

Agreed, definitely not reloads. Be aware that they may be corrosive. I assume they all have the same head stamp? If you can post a good pic of it, we can probably tell you exactly what it is. I mean, I'd Google it, but hkcavalier probably knows off the top of his head.

I keep getting drawn back to the silly storage system. Very wasteful of space for what is relatively cheap ammo that will happily live thrown haphazardly into an ammo can for several decades. Someone had a ton of time on their hands to drill all those holes.

Someone had a ton of time on their hands to drill all those holes. There are at least 10 of those wooden trays in a mix of 30 & 50 cal can sizes. Also a bunch of small plastic boxes that hold 20 rounds each. My stepdad recently passed and we had to clean out his house that no family member had been allowed in for at least the last 10 years. The guns/ammo and fishing stuff were meticulously organized and stored. The rest of the place was an absolutely disaster and we easily filled a 30 yard dumpster.

The crazy storage (7.62x39 = either full mags, bulk, or as received in 500's or 1000's) and tape label, including the "BT" is almost as if someone did these...........odd stuff. To each his own.

Here is a photo of what most of them look like. There are a few hundred of a couple other varieties, some of which are clearly stamped WINCHESTER.

BUT Winchester COULD be brass, so worthy of retaining spent.

I'm not the expert on ComBloc headstamps. There are several members here who grew up there and might know better. But I'm 99% sure anything caliber marked is intended for commercial sale. It looks a lot like some Golden Tiger I have, but probably a generation older.

I agree, looks like Golden Tiger. Here's a pic of mine: Richj11, does that seem to match?

But now that I'm looking a little closer, there are a few different stamps on the green rounds. Like I said, over 1000 of those, then a small variety of some other rounds as well.

Well, let's see here:
- 964 and 311 are Chinese. The number on the bottom would be the year, e.g., 1975, 1993. - TCW is Tula - That one above the TCW is one of the common Russian ones I think, I can't place it....
The Chinese may be corrosive.
I'd shoot all that shit up . . . and clean your gun after you shoot.
