You had to send all the way to FRANCE for that trimmer?!? I think they're made in the U.S. Hi, Col_temp As I understand it, having used a Gerard in the vertical position myself, they work better when oriented horizontally? The trimmings don't clog the cutter? MaPi? If so, will that drill motor allow you to turn the head ninety degrees?

The Power Trimmer can be used either horizontally or vertically; I've used it both ways, but I normally use it vertically. It works fine either way. Yeah, maybe you could go longer without cleaning out the chips if you had it horizontally, but it hasn't been an issue for me. I suspect the Tri-way Trimmer will work in any orientation that you can point your drill, but I've never used one.

Thanks Steve. All my professional career I had to have all the “right tools” and it’s taken me awhile to acquire all this stuff. I don’t think it really makes a difference but I’m partial to the vertical drill press mode because that’s all I’ve ever used. Think about this for a moment, gravity keeps the chips well below the cutter in the vertical position.
