I rigged up this set up for my Tumbler to make it a little faster to separate and rinse the water from media and brass. I've been processing some 500 rounds of dougja's fine once fired brass and thought it would be nice if I could find a screen to pour the brass and media through after tumbling, but most strainers will let the tiny pins right through as well. I had the idea to use one our Bacon Spatter screens from the kitchen and basically just centered the screen up the lid studs, marked the screen and used a 3/16" drill bit to make the holes in the screen, then just put the screen on in place of the lid and liner.

It works great, when your done tumbling just mount the screen, turn the whole tumbler upside down and dump out the water and shake it up, turn it back up and rinse with water right through the screen, and repeat. Then you can do your normal process of separating the brass from the media. I use the STM Media separator, and it's a lot less of hassle when when the majority of the water is removed at this point IMO anyhow.

I've done this tumbling process a bunch the old way, and I'm pretty happy with this new process.

Thanks,

I just put an old t-shirt in a Costco sized Folgers coffee container with the edges folded down over the edges. I dump the brass, pins, and dirty water into the t-shirt then grab the edges and lift the brass/pins out letting the water drain.

I hold the t-shirt "strainer" under hot tap water and then dump into the media separator.

Everything was "free" and my wife doesn't wonder where he "splatter guard" went.

How did I know you were gong to Poo Poo my Idea, with your way I don't get drill anything, or use screws and wing nuts. Boring! Plus she would bitch me out for walking around without my shirt on. ;)

Thanks,

P.S. I don't have a Costco card.
