230-grain .45 Auto Reloading Question

Here's the question: How many rounds will fit in the can?
 Think of this as a little semi-hidden PIF/game for the reloading crowd and anyone else who bothers to click on that thread title! Here's my entire collection of .45 Auto ammo at the moment:  Yup, 38 measly rounds. Unacceptable. So I'm going to load up some more, and I'm going to fill that Tall .50 ammo can right to the top. So the question is: How many rounds will fit in that can, including the 38 that are already in there? Da rulez and more info: - Even if you have access to a Tall .50 can and a buttload of .45, please don't simulate this; we'll consider that cheating for the purposes of this game. - Enter only once by replying to this thread. You can edit your post and change your answer as many times as you want, and I'll lock it down before I give the results. - These are 230-grain, .45 Auto rounds. - I will fill the can to approximately level to the top. I will be the judge of what's appropriately full. - The winner is the one whose guess is closest to the actual total. In the event of a tie, I will flip a coin; the winner will get the prize and the loser will get a kick in the nuts. In the event that the loser of the coin toss is female, I will remove the nuts from your purse before I kick them. - This will take me a day, or a week, or a month or more. I'll leave this open until I'm done filling the can. - If you win, be willing to give me your real name and address so I can mail the prize if a local meetup isn't convenient. Here's a photo of the Tall .50 can next to a standard .30 ammo can, for reference:  And what's the prize, you ask? The prize is one of these "Hillary in Prison" magazines! These are Gen M3 Pmags for .223/5.56.  Or if you're not into that, maybe a Bushnell 3-9x scope, brand new? And please do not try to lift it up when you fill it. I have a regular .50 can filled with 230grn 45ACP and that sumbich is HEAVY!!!  (No, i have not counted how many rounds are in my can) |
