All my 45 auto brass is modern so its lpp.

45auto shell plate is halfway between amazon warehouse and my house)

Got 45auto expansion bushing from ebay today as amazon only sells 45colt and some comments says its overdoing its job on 45auto brass.

Really appreciate you sharing your load data, Steve!

I might go back to Issaquah sportsman club as I can get there some free brass and not loosing mine ))) Currently shooting at Duvall gravel pit. As its FREE and 15 min away from my home on the way from work )))

West Coast Armory at factoria is ludacris expensive (((

Ludacris ... lol.

Don’t assume that modern brass is large primer brass; small primer .45 is actually a recent thing.

How much .45 brass do you have, roughly?

Tim, does that scale that you bought include a pan to weigh powder in? If not, you’ll need one.

Nice. Let me know if you happen to be in the Renton area and I’ll give you some brass.

Im back from Vegas.

Picked my bow with new limbs in Cabelas and seems that my order will arrive tomorrow with rangefinder and dies for 45auto. Finally.

Hope that will have time to play with my reloading stuff this week so most likely this thread will be pretty active on my end. )

Once again thank you all on your input guys!

Madpick is right about terrifying, I still remember the first time I pulled the trigger on my first reloads I didn`t have any help back then and had to figure it out but still have all my fingers. If you are nervous and want to reload with someone I am setting up for doing about a thousand rounds of 357 if you want to stop by I can hold off setting up my Dilion for 357 and show you how to set up dies ( I am sure it is different than yours but you can get the idea) and show you how I watch the powder for safety and such.

Guys! You are all so nice and helpful!
Thank you so much for invite. Unfortunately I was out of state for some time and have some stuff to handle here since I’m back.
Should be pretty straight forward with my setup. Will post everything here)
Im about to go back to Issaquah sportsman’s club to shoot there. Will be happy to meet up at the range if someone is shooting there too.
PS does anyone knows any good course for cpl holders?
Safety and tactical? Would love to do one with simunition.

check with your local PD/Sherrif training Sgt. often when they run sim/scenarios they need stand-in "bad guys". much learning can be had, though they don't "teach" civs in these trainings.

For pistol loading, I just throw them all together. For most rifle loading, I do the same thing.

For super-duper accuracy rifle ammo, I sort by headstamp.

Hornady dies are nice and usually what I use . . . but that Lee factory crimp die is a winner. I would order one, since you'll have an extra station once you're using the powder-through expander.

Hornady will have sitting crimping die (taper). I think it will be possible to “unscrew” crimping function all the way out to just sit it.

Everyone online says that lee factory crimp is a must have. Most likely will incorporate it in my setup. So far hard to say ans i never ever touched reloading stuff except for shotgun shells on my mec 600.

The Lee die has a carbide ring at it's mouth that performs a final sizing/sizing check on pistol rounds that is invaluable in preventing jams. They were the first to offer this and perhaps others have a similar feature but the Lee is just so darn inexpensive and does such a great job.

Many semi-auto pistols form a slight bulge in the case head area (notably the 40/10mm/45acp) and sizing dies often don't reach down the case this far. The Lee Crimp die helps alleviate this problem. If not, Lee also offers a "Bulge Buster Die" for $15 or less.

I only reload 9mm for my pistol rounds. Over the years I've found it beneficial to de-prime all my brass during the inspection process. Makes it easier to clean in the SS Pins and then reload from the case feeder on my Dillon 650. Not only can I weed out damaged cases, cases with overly large primer pockets (using a go/no-go gauge), but can also toss cases with any bulge into a bin for later attention with the Bulge Buster.

FWIW, I use an old Lee Progressive to de-prime brass. About the only thing I found that old Lee press good for
