I'm an old caster. Tin is nice to have, but it doesn't harden lead, it improves its fluidity so it will fill out the molds. Antimony is what hardens lead. Pure linotype lead, which was used until 30 years ago by newspapers, is a blend of all three. If you can get old wheel weights, they are about ideal for pistol bullets, but they are hard to find here, and often they now use other metal alloys. If you can get linotype, you can make center fire rifles bullets from it with alloying. Cut it 50% with pure lead, and its fine for pistol bullets.
