I think I may have mentioned how impressed I was with this gadget once before but I'm so pleased with it I figured it was worth mentioning again.

This thing is so awesome! Greatest thing since sliced bread. I'll never go back to hand tricklers again. The Hornady Vibratory Powder Trickler has worked extremely well with every powder type I've used in it, even the finest of powders. Nothing but positive experiences with this reloaders gadget!

This lil doohickey by Primercatcher has sure made things easier when de-capping crap loads of spent cases. I used to curse all the lil bastards popping off everywhere (but rarely in the stock RCBS tray) and disappearing into oblivion. This thing really works and is money well spent in my opinion. Bought one for myself and one for Mark (oldncranky).

Ever wonder why RCBS never built a spring into the powder measure handle? Well I have. This contraption may be a little complicated and over thought but it does work for the time being. I'm still working on an easier solution to this obvious problem with the RCBS powder measure.

Holy crap! I'm not the first one to see this flaw? Did they have to bring in some NASA scientists to figure that out?

You're welcome. I don't know why in all the precision engineering done to make that machine go...they want you adjust the powder measure with a wrench. Seriously, I was making rounds at the rate of 750 rounds an hour...but, they want you make adjustments with a wrench.

So I had an extra couple days off work and took advantage of the down time to clear some of the accumulating range brass off of my bench.

I don't know if I'm the only one who does this but it sure makes it easier when I'm ready to load up a run of a specific bullet weight, powder type or caliber.

I have a few hundred pieces of .308 Winchester, .224 Valkyrie and now .223 brass that is all prepped with processed brass and primers installed. I keep it at the ready until I decide on a bullet or powder I want to try. It makes the loading much quicker and easier when all I have to do is add powder and a bullet to the pre=prepped case.

I suppose this is only handy if you're still experimenting. If I had some stellar load recipes that were already tried and true, I suppose I would have just loaded them all the way up. Since I'm still developing loads this method works good for me.

Does anyone else do this?

I like to be efficient when I reload, so I like to do big batches. For rifle brass, that means having the brass all cleaned, sized and trimmed — I just need to add primer, powder and bullet. I generally prime on the press, with rare exceptions.

For pistol brass, I have brass all cleaned and ready to go. Since I’m loading on a progressive, all the steps including sizing and decapping will happen during the reloading process.

Hornady and RCBS both have the same thing for their powder throws. Like the big D they both cost extra. They are what I consider a must have though to dial in a drop weight exactly were you want and not take all afternoon doing it. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to simplify their reloading, even if handloading with a single stage press. Having measurements also means you can dial back very close to a previous load when you switch calibers/powders, then simple/quick fine tuning.
I have an RCBS Uniflow on my LnL (I know sacrilidge, but I had it before the LnL and the RCBS small covers pretty much every cartridge I load for while the Hornady does not.

I have now purchased a XL 650 Dillon with all the bells and whistles. I just got tired of trying to keep up with 2000 rounds a week that we shoot on a turret press. OK all you Cult members, tell me I did not make a mistake............................
