Not enough data.

Is this an Aleutian island in January? Or a equatorial Pacific island? Running fresh water? Game hunting?

Fishing pole: Food.
Knife: Cut up food, make shelter, etc.
Pot: Cook food, boil drinking water.
Matches: Make fire, cook food, stay warm, signal for help.

#5 would be the raft and #6 the hand saw.

The biggest problem with the selection is you have to pick along the lines of getting off the Island and having a chance at being rescued or surviving on the Island with a lesser change to be rescued. For that reason I can't decide.

“...average citizens only get what they want if wealthy Americans and business-oriented interest groups also want it; and that when a policy favored by the majority of the American public is implemented, it is usually because the economic elites did not oppose it.”

"Because unless you hit something vital, it doesn't matter what you hit them with. You could hit them with a .45 in the shoulder, they're gonna survive. You hit them with a 9mm in the shoulder, they're gonna survive. You hit them with a .22 in the brain they could die. So, stopping a threat really does not come down to caliber, it is shot placement."

Fishing rod
-mostly because of the monofilament. But I'll use the rod and reel 'til they break
-have to cook the fish and other food you may find.
-AND you can distill or purify water (and collect rain water)
-for shelter
-water collection
-use for constructing a solar still

First day stranded :

Locate water source, or construct solar still
establish shelter
make signal/cooking fire
Salvage stuff from wreckage if available?
find Wilson.....

Agreed on all except the tarp. I’d opt for the raft. Won’t work for a solar still but will work for the other purposes of shelter and water collection. More durable material. Ready to go raft in case you decide you need to leave the island in a hurry.

Pot, saw, mirror, knife.

You should pick anything that will run out, go bad, or break easy. Wash your ass in the waves.
