I have chance to grab some 800 MHz radios ... like a lot $10 a piece any thoughts on useful ness, or ideas on what to use for?

Police/fire/EMS. Amateur bands are nowhere near 800 MHz. I don't think they're terribly useful-- maybe as a receiver/scanner?

I am thinking if I can put it together right $$ wise it would be nice to have 5-10 on a network no one else is using and just run my friends and family. My understanding is. 800 MHz is business frequency
