Why does it sound like an accellerator pump is working in that carb when you work the throttle?

Not sure what you mean? The vacuum of the engine pulls in the woodgas, the carb just acts as a throttle control once I set a air fuel mixture with the manual controls in the cab

Okay met Norman89 today. What an Awesome guy. I went to pick up a handle for my early WW2 ammo can but ended up having a tutorial on his Woodgas Gassifier truck.

Holy Cow! What an awesome home made idea. Simply stunning to see and read this thread too.

BadAss comes to mind (in a great way). Here’s to you and I still say you should put a banner on the back with a big middle finger to those driving hybrids.

That truck gives the Real meaning to Carbon Neutral.

Thank you very much Young  a little self reliance is good to have in the back pocket!

Well… what you got there is a bit more than self reliance.

Driving
Cooking food
Heat
Supplying generator…

Pretty Awesome.

I like the updates!

I like the videos where you show us a little of the system and how it works . . . draining condensate, the hopper, etc.

I mean, I still have no idea what the hell actually happens inside that system, but little by little I'll get there.

DAMN!

Holy crap! That's a complex system, and you are obviously familiar with every inch of it, and how it works. That's really, really impressive. Thank you for taking the time to make that video!

Do you have access to an easy supply of wood?

At my work (roofing supplies) we get metal roofing delivered on 2x4, 2x6 and 4x4 framed pallets. We pay I think 3.00$ a piece to get rid of them, so I knock them apart and bring them home and buzz through the table saw and that's my fuel. 3 pallets will get me to work and back 320 miles for the week, takes about 5 hours to cut it all up. A chunking machine will be the follow up project to produce the chunks way way faster
