Kevlar isn't a biodegradable product. The 7 year shelf life pertains to frequent use, where the material is subjected to constant heat, cold, moisture (sweat) and movement. Over time, the fibers will start to break down and the reliability of the vest will degrade. The "guarantee" that it will perform as required by NIJ after the 7 years will be gone, but most likely she will still stop a round.

If you stick with kevlar, it will be cheaper in the long run. and Kevlar wears better day to day. But the only thing that will stop .30 cal rounds is ceramic Plate....and you pay alot for what you get. But there is that peace of mind.....until the baddie tries for a head shot

Didn't know you could own armor, everything I look at online says Leo and mil only... The mil even made me had mine back over. Even though it's personal issue
