I'm a big fan of the show "Naked and Afraid".

I always laugh when someone says "I will just live off the land". When you make a shelter and post up in a spot, your human footprint becomes permanent and all the game leaves your area. Unless you become a Nomad, it might be best to adjust your plans.

As much as I like a lot of reality shows, I hate this one. How do you end up naked anywhere? The naked part is just a gimmick hook, plus most of the people they feature I don't want to see naked (thank god for the blurring). How likely are we going to get in a survival situation in the places they go to? Alone is not so much about the location, but the mental aspect of surviving. Most people that tag out early are due to medical, or mental (missing family). Being in the military I don't have a lot of sympathy for the ones that tag out for missing family though. We have to deploy on a regular basis for 6-12 months. So these people that get all boohoo after only 30 days to me are a joke.
