Go back, reread the new law and tell me a nervous attorney won’t tell a company to stop selling 80 receivers to WA addresses. Sure, it might not be every retailer - but the big ones won’t risk it without clear language from the AG (which will never happen).

Oh, I've read it several times. It says that it's illegal to manufacture an untraceable firearm with the intent to re-sell it.

Which was already illegal.

If I recall correctly - it says something along the lines of “delivering, transferring, providing...” which is incredibly ambiguous.

Please give it a generous read.

as long as it doesn't have any rifling, I mean "smooth bore", it won't be affected by I-1639.

Like I said...here’s a major online retailer who is no longer going to sell 80 receivers to WA residents:

The 80% question seems like a huge opportunity for local FFL's to become distributors a manufacturer of 80% receivers. Anybody purchasing or transferring a firearm that completes the background check is a known "safe" buyer (at that moment), and therefore can buy all the 80% stuff they want before leaving the store.

Buy a surplus flamethrower. Russian or Chinese are about $2,500.
US M2's cost a lot and are hard to find.

And . . . how can an FFL even run a background check on something that's not a gun?

Pssst...if it can't fire a round, it isn't a firearm according to the state, so 594/1639 doesn't apply...pass it on...

Totally agree, but that’s not the issue here. We’re talking about new 80% lowers being sold by dealers.

You and I both know it's just a paperweight. Not finding ways to comply so much as ways to keep products available from companies refusing to ship to WA. The law "implies" that assisting prohibited persons from obtaining an untraceable firearm. What I'm saying is that if a local FFL sold or transferred a serialized firearm or receiver, then that person is now a good guy, and could by whatever 80% stuff they desire, and not be a risk to the dealer. Hope that makes sense.
