So I have been separated for over a year and time to actually move on in my life. Should be a relatively simple "uncontested?" Divorce as we already split all of are things. I could try and claim the $1700 from my PTO she used toward buying her car, but at this point I'm willing too just right it off as a loss and move on. Anyone got somone they recommend?

If it's simple, and no kids, just go file uncontested. It's like a $200 doc fee.

Did you file for legal separation?

My divorce was honestly a mess. Started out self-represented, then hired an initial lawyer who turned out to be a shyster using the yellow pages and cold calling. Finally with help from my brother received a recommendation for Dan Clare at the following firm:
https://clarelawfirm.com/

Dan was awesome. Great communication and representation. I only wish I had hired him from the very beginning. Highly recommended.

Agreed.

Lawyers are expensive.

If it's complicated I can recommend someone. Dan Cook in University Place.

It's been about 20 years now, but my ex and I did divide things up "Uncontested" (more or less) and our son was over 18, so no child support issues ( legally anyway.)

We found a paralegal that specialized in this sort of thing and she did all the paperwork etc. We each met with her separately and it did all work out. Not fun, but could have been much worse..
I don't have a current specific person to see, but maybe you could look into a similar option.

Out of curiosity, I just Googled " uncontested divorce Washington state" and came up with several options.

Good luck!

My genetic history agrees. But we shall see.

If there are two reasonable people getting a divorce, uncontested do it yourself works.
If not, the reasonable party needs a lawyer.
I used Jesse Anderson with Genesis Law Firm in Everett.
No paper, everything via email. Don't even have to go down to his office.
Got me exactly what I wanted, came in way under budget, and even refunded $1,500 of the initial retainer.
