One of the Prime Day deals is Peltor 500 earmuffs. The price shows at $113 which is pretty good to begin with. When you check out, they’ll give a 30% discount to make them $79.

That's a good deal. And, 26dB noise reduction, better than the Howard Leight or the Peltor Sport 100.

One of the reviews pointed out that there’s no padding on the headband. They recommended this wrap thingy.

I read that "no padding" review before I bought my Peltor 300 muffs, and it caused me some concern since I'm, ah, follicly challenged.

However, I wear a baseball cap (ref quantsuff's post above!) when I shoot. With the muffs over the hat (of course), and the little button on the hat positioned between the two pieces of the muffs band, it works perfectly. No concerns from my side.

I strongly recommend that everyone wear a baseball cap when shooting, or a similar hat. It keeps brass (and other stuff) from falling into your safety glasses, and helps to keep it out of your shirt, and of course will help with shielding the sun as well.

There's a $15 coupon right now (just click the box just under the price), which brings the price down to $78.xx plus tax:

Nice. I’ve been real happy with mine. I hear the Noisefighters gel cups with the glasses cut outs are a good upgrade too.

I’m glad I bought the wrap thing cause they hurt the top of my head when I don’t wear a hat (yeah yeah, mock my wussiness, I don’t care). Usually I wear a hat but sometimes I forget it if I’m squeezing in a quick range trip. It’s nice to keep the wrap thing in my bag for when I need it.
