Just wanted to make my first post and greet everyone. I happened across this website through following the r/guns and r/firearms subreddits which then led me to the r/WA_Guns subreddit which then led me here. My name's Darryl, I live in Covington. I'm going to go into my history with firearms next so if you want to stop reading now I totally understand. :)

I've been into firearms since I turned 21 back in 2001. My first
Firearm I purchased was a Kel-Tec P32, then a Star Firestar Plus. I don't know how I ended up with an infatuation with a Star but I happened across it on GunsAmerica back then. I sold that Star to my buddy and bought a Glock 23, then a Kel-Tec P3AT, a Kel-Tec PF-9, a Daewoo DR200, Ruger 10/22, Remington 870. Odd collection. Then I stopped for a decade and a half, I lost interested in buying more guns insistent that the only thing I needed to buy was a bolt action rifle. Recently a buddy of mine who works with me got me back into firearms, especially with how the 2A is being attacked so furiously by politicians everywhere. 1639 passed and that freaked me out so I bought 5 AR lowers thinking I wouldn't be able to buy any more semi auto rifles unless I took a class I refused to take. I started getting into firearms again and researching like crazy. I decided I wanted to buy one handgun from each of the American gun manufacturers, specifically polymer striker fire pistols. I plan on buying one from each of the American gun manufacturers just to show my support for our gun companies. My plan is to go from cheaper to expensive. I sold my Glock and bought a FMK Recon, and a Mossberg MC1sc. I plan on picking up a Diamondback DB9 Gen 4, a Diamondback AM2, SCCY CPX-1, Hi-Point YC9, Ruger American Compact, Smith and Wesson M&P9 M2.0, maybe I'll even go out and buy a Kimber with the polymer lower. Only one I'm not interested in at all are the Remington polymer pistols. I'm also not planning on buying a Springfield XD or a Stoeger STR9 because neither are made in the United States.

I'm also kicking around the idea of getting my FFL so I can do some online sales as well as possibly doing transfers. If any of you guys have experience in FFL licensing let me know.

Good to meet you all and hopefully I can contribute to the community in some way.

Welcome to WaGuns!

At this point is it really feasible to getting a FFL?
I would really do a business analysis and look at the market situation. Covington you would be competing with Rehv Arms and a few other stores around.

Would you have a niche? Specialty?

Whatcher favorite: Rifles or handguns?

Well I wasn't planning on opening up a retail location right now, I wouldn't want to compete with Rehv. I love Rehv Arms and currently I do most of my business with them. I'm actually thinking of becoming one of the many many internet sellers that are in existence, and maybe I can build a little business that can help to fund my firearms interest. Also a buddy of mine knows how to Cerakote so it might be something else we can offer. I would hope one day to make enough money with this to put towards fighting for Washington States 2A rights. Even if that's just raising enough money to throw more to the Second Amendment Foundation. I dunno, it would be a secondary business. I'm planning on keeping my primary job for the benefits. I know going in half assed is a bad idea. But I'm not planning on having it be my primary mode of income.

I very much prefer Handguns. However I bought those 5 lowers because I have a feeling they're going to try to outright ban them.

That's okay, because you can turn those lowers into pistols too! :thumbsup2:

Welcome to WaGuns, Darryl! Great intro thread. thumbsup

With 5 lowers to build out I'm considering doing one in a standard 5.56 carbine setup, one in 300 Blackout with a very short barrel, one in 6.5 Grendel, maybe a 22 Nosler. Too many options! :)

Welcome!
Might want to save some of the bucks from buying guns to support the Pro 2A orgs that are fighting the good fight. :wink05:

Agreed. Without these stupid laws being fought or overturned there won't be any guns to buy.
