Been eyeballing this Thai inspired moon chefs blade for over a year waffling on getting it or just keeping with what kitchen knives I already use. But the bullet paid my $70 plus shipping and ordered it. Got it and was like why the hell did I pay $70+ for a knife that appears to have a blade made from 16gauge sheet steel not impressed with it till I started cutting stuff with it. Now it is my go to cooking knife it slices beautifully through root vegetables, squash, taters yet has an edge fine enough you can slice practically paper thin slices of tomatoes. Tonight I used it on beets and onions and it was flawless.

I've been thinking about commissioning my brother to make me one similar to this. I haven't used one, but I've watched people on shows using them and it seems like a fantastic knife.

It’s now my go to knife for pretty much everything, haven’t tried it on meat yet though.

Thai Import Foods, an online retailer based over on the Eastside, has those for about $28 or so, ...

They call it a “Handmade Pork Vendor Knife”.

I’ve bought stuff from them, but not that.

They get some unique stuff, great ingredients, too, that can be hard to find. It’s cool they’re local.

I tried to avoid shipping once, for a grill, and offered to drive over & pick it up.

They said thanks, but no... :ROFLMAO:

They shipped it.
