I guess I’m getting into a new hobby. So far I’ve built a dresser and now vanity. Don’t have pics of the dresser, but it came out ok.

Varnish on top and the bottom is a primer. I’ll let my daughter paint it the color she wants.

Found one! She painted it a coffee brown with antique handles.

These should be able to be given to her grandchildren. Just about everything is glued and screwed together with the exception of the drawer bottoms. Those are glued and nailed. The dresser drawer bottoms are in slots then glued and brad nailed together. There is about $100.00 each in materials. The dresser was about 10 hours, vanity about 8 hours to build.

Vic, did you taper the desk legs? Hard to tell from the photo. I often taper the two inside faces of legs, so they look more elegant and less blocky.

Yes I did taper them. Then promptly screwed up putting it together. In my defense I was running on 2 hours of sleep.

I ran across this today.... looks like a pretty cool idea! Thought I'd throw it up here for anyone wanting to try something different.

Another one popped up made out of metal.... this one is really cool!
