Boeing’s not out, but the Dreamliner is.
How was this even doubted?
Let’s see, maybe we can move all these jobs to a non-union, non-pension, area...
Surprise to....no one...

The writing was on the wall, we were all expecting it. Production has been cut and isn't going back up in rate for the foreseeable future. They transportation costs to fly the body sections here, coupled with the fact we can't build the -10 here due to the size of the aft body section as it won't fit in the dream lifters.

Washington State has been screwing Boeing for years, hence their corporate move to Chicago, so, more movement is no surprise. Moving jobs to a non-union area, is obvious.
But, you get what you pay for.
There’s a difference between cutting costs, and short-changing customers, and employees...
Boeing has been screwing their employees for many years, so this is no surprise.
Screwing long-term employees is what Boeing pays newbie management wannabes to figure out.
Then, they let both go....

Without a totally new platform in the wings(!), Boeing's lines needed consolidation and they have way too high of a cost basis for the next several years. I think there will be more fallout than the 787. Will they move 737 production from Renton to Everett? They should consider it. Some of the refurb operations from Boeing Field to ???

Team Culp better be working on a strategy to short circuit Jay before he starts blaming everyone but the democrats and their enablers. This is a huge opportunity for Culp.

787 was a huge part of Everett’s output. 787 was twice the rate of 777. The 747 is going away, and 767 tanker is a low-rate deal. So, 787 was well over 60% of total Everett output before Covid, and is currently over 2/3 of the Everett output. And with 30,000 employees at Everett, losing 2/3 of your work will cut employment deeply. With new models put off due to Covid, Everett is in serious trouble.
