Hello everyone,
I just joined this group but have been an avid gun owner since I was old enough to buy a firearm in the 90's. I am retired law enforcement. I moonlighted at a few local guns shops in another state. I lived in Reno NV for 30 years before I took a job in the San Juans. My wife and I are now empty nesters and relocated to Camano Island last year. I am a fair weather motorcyclist. I hear shooting quite often from my house but I don't know anyone with a private range. Anyone??
I like cool, unusual or rare modern firearms like H & K P-series pistols, all Nickel Sig P226 9mm, Marlin Camp 45, Benelli M3Super90 to name a few. Some of the benefits of working at a gun shop. I've got some NFA and non NFA items also. I do carry my P7M8 but also just bought a Blue Label Gen5 Glock 19 MOS as a new daily carry from Skagit Arms.
Any LEO's (retired on not) want to meet for coffee, LMK.
Carry every day and be safe!
Regards, Steve

Nice choices on the P7M8 and Gen5 Glock 19.

3/4 of my family, including myself, my daughter and son were at the 2011 Air Races the day before the crash into the stands. Horrible loss to everyone but I am thankful we weren't there that day. Its pretty clear right now, we need more good guys with guns to support LE right now. GeekWithGuns wrote: Welcome Steve. Thanks for your public service. Greatly appreciated. We back the blue!!! Welcome!
I have a Camp 45 and Camp 9. 45 was shot once and put away before I bought it on GB, later model. Near pristine. The 9 was a complete basket case, got it for a song, missing pieces and painted. Rebuilt, reblued. The 45 is just a hoot to shoot with slow target ammo. Pull trigger. Eat ham sammich. Hear target slap. Anyway both perversely fall under the nasty auspices of our rather recent ugly and misdirected gun laws as you know.

Nice choices on the P7M8 and Gen5 Glock 19. Wow close call. I remember the headlines when that crash happened. Terrible for everyone. Glad that your family missed that airshow crash and is all OK. One of the beautiful things about the Air Races is how close the grandstands are to the field and the pylons but that does come with it's own hazard for sure. There have been several crashes at the Air Show that I recall but they're typically on the outer pylons instead of close in. We have a lot of air shows in Texas (looking forward to the next Big Country Air Fest at Dyess AFB in Abilene) but nothing that quite compares to the Reno Air Races.

The camp rifles are so easy to shoot, pleasant might even be a better word. My buddy has the Camp 9. There was a dealer at the "Big Reno Gun Show" many years ago who had a rifle rack full of them and none for sale. Just for show n tell. The co-worker who I bought mine from threw in a second trigger group he bought from Marlin. His intention was to modify it so it would take Smith and Wesson 45 acp (645 / 4506) magazines because that is what we were all carrying on duty at the time. He never figured it out and I never gave it any thought. Pablo wrote: Welcome!
