You found ECBP Batch C920! ECBP is always one of my favorites, and for some reason I tend to prefer the C (fall) batches. Can’t wait to find one myself. Nice haul, Jaime!

Do I need to bring one back for you? Do you want this one?

I'm good, thanks for checking! It will show up here soon enough and isn't ever too expensive. It's always one of my favorite bang-for-your buck whiskeys.

In keeping with my now-appointed "Whiskey Nerd" label, I'll let y'all in on how Heaven Hill (that's the distillery for Elijah Craig) denotes their batches. They typically release Barrel Proof (and Larceny Barrel Proof) in batches three times a year. The spring release is A, summer is B and fall is C. The first number denotes the month it released (A is usually 1, B is 5 and C is 9.) And the last two numbers are the year. The flavor profile is similar from batch to batch, but the proof varies and some batches tend to be better than others (or more suited to different palates.)

To be honest, I like ECBP almost as much as other high-proof bourbons like George T. Stagg. But since the batches are larger and released more often, there is less hype so it costs a lot less.

I've been purchasing a few more bottles and tracking on some local whiskey's. You might check out these guys who review some local(Dry Fly) distillors.

I like to drink top shelf whiskey out of this campy dollar-store glass. The 2020 batch of GTS is outstanding, by the way.

I don't think I've had alcohol in the past 2 years, except maybe a can of Irish Death.

I went through the wrong checkout lane, and realized it was the booze aisle... No big deal..... But then something caught my eye, and I decided to pick up a cheap bottle of booze that sounded like it might make a good jack n coke.

Seagrams 7 dark honey.

Gets good reviews, should be fine for a mixer and take the edge off....

I won't be able to get into it for at least a couple days, but I'll let you know how it goes.

Made a final run to TW today. I think I'm done purchasing alcohol for a while. I'm running out of room.

1) All three of those are good choices, Jaime. I'm not a big tequila guy, but I've had that one and enjoyed it.

2) There's always room for more bottles. Trust me. :thumbsup2:

I had that tequila at an art auction and it changed my mind about sipping tequila. But that Knob Creek is fantastic. I only bought the DF1010 because of a recent review by the Whiskey Tribe.

That Knob Creek 12yr was just named Whiskey Advocate's #2 whiskey of the year. I killed a bottle recently, it was pretty darn good. (I still prefer a good 14-15yr store pick single barrel when it comes to KC, though.)
