It was ok.
Max showed how he is much more than just a fast driver, having a discussion with his race engineer regarding tactics on how their early pit stop would force Mercedes to go long.
All while loafing along at 300kph.

I am finding that the last decade the races have become less exciting, overall.
Even if you discard the somewhat boring years of dominance by Red Bull and then Mercedes, it seems that the mid-field and back has gotten less aggressive.

I think that is why F1 has gone to the new car for 2022, hopefully that will create much more drama throughout the field with the ability to tailgate.

MB antics make the fastest lap point system unfun.

I beg to differ, Red Bull and Alpha Tauri have both pitted a driver out of the points late in the race to take away the fastest lap point from the race winner. Tactics, not antics...

I do think that the WC point should go to the driver regardless of their place. That would make some scrambling & excitement happen in the lower ranks during the last few laps.

Me too, he fought hard. The crowd stilled loved him for third though.
