http://www.seattlepi.com/local/komo/art ... 921433.phpQuote: A man trying to break into an Edmonds home in the middle of the night was shot by the mother of the house as her husband and several children lay sleeping inside.
Edmonds police say the woman was awakened around 3:15 a.m Thursday by the sound of someone pounding at their front door. She called 911 then grabbed her gun and went by the front door as the intruder began to force his way inside. The woman struggled with the intruder but, realizing she wasn't going to be able to hold him back much longer, fired a shot at his stomach, police said.
Officers arrived moments later to find he wounded intruder still at the front of the house in the 16400 block of 75th Place W. He was taken into custody then driven to Harborview Medical Center where he's still being treated for the wound. No one else was hurt.
Police say the woman's husband and 14-, 10- and 5-year-old children were inside the home, as well as a friend of the 14-year-old.
Investigators say the intruder didn't know the victims.

I'd like to see what MDA has to say I'm guessing they would say one or more of the following: - This is an aberration and almost never happens. - It's far more likely the gun would have been used against her. - Her gun might have been used by her kids for a mass shooting because she didn't keep it locked up.

Aim higher to reduce the chance of recidivism. This punk could get out soon and pull this crap again thanks to the liberal dopes running the criminal justice system

There's an update to this story: KOMO News wrote: Evan Petrone said his brother was out drinking with friends in downtown Edmonds Wednesday night and mistakenly came to the house looking for friends.
"He wasn't breaking into the house," Evan said. "He was intoxicated, yes, and he may have made some bad decisions ... (but) he wasn't trying to harm anybody. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time. That was his safe place. That was where his friends were, and to him that was where his friends still lived."
Evan said his brother's friends used to live at the home in question and he was unaware they had moved. The whole story: http://www.komonews.com/news/local/Moth ... 77871.htmlYes, assuming that's true then it's a sad story . . . but that doesn't change the facts:

great job by the media to turn a good shoot into a heinous gun crime.
KOMO can suck it. As can any other media agency who runs that part of the story.

How about we don't let this happen in the first place? I may own/carry guns on a regular basis, but I don't want to use them if I don't have to. I have posted this link numerous time, and will continue to do so. Like a seatbelt, I don't want to use my gun anymore than I want to use my seatbelt. Keep the stupid out of your house. I have these installed on my doors. http://armorconcepts.com/EZ-Armor/?gcli ... oC62Hw_wcB
