Just to clarify, the language from RCW 9.41.113 is pasted below. I think you could argue Triangle Pit meets the requirements for an exception because DNR authorizes its use to set up targets and shoot (shooting range?), but someone's back yard does not:

========
(ii) if the temporary transfer occurs, and the firearm is kept at all times, at an established shooting range authorized by the governing body of the jurisdiction in which such range is located;

In other words if you own a Mosin and dig a hole to bury it at this range and recover it every time you go there you'd be legal. It sure as hell wont hurt the mosin :rofl9: :rofl9: :rofl9: :rofl9:

Thank you guys for cleaning the pit! my buddy and i finally got out to blow off some handgun rounds. The place looked great! the signs are all over the place and that's what got my attention to the website. I'll be on the lookout for more clean ups as we utilize the pit whenever we wanna shoot. Again, Thank you so much! I only wish i would have known so i could have helped out.

Eric

Welcome to WaGuns, Eric, and thank you for posting!

It felt good to get out there and clean, and having folks take notice makes it even better. thumbsup

Ah! But in my particular back yard "jurisdiction", I have "designated" a shooting area. The "designated" pasture, is for the goats, the "designated" area for vehicles is the drive way. Absent any over-riding state/fed law, as sole proprietor, I believe I am the "governing body". Wanna Try my Sig?
