I'm looking to get a couple small parts anodized black. Trigger guards and floor plates for two rifles. Anyone know of anyone that could do the job?

I have been kicking around the idea of learning to do this myself once I get some other projects done. I seems to be fairly simple.

please do it, I have some parts and know of many others that need aluminum gun parts anodized black

in addition you could anodize in every color under the rainbow

These guys used to perform this on scope rings, and other parts, but went out of business suddenly a few years ago

I've been looking at getting a kit for some time. Just seems too time consuming and therefore would price small parts out.

I've done a little anodizing in my shop, but what some may not realize is the huge difference between the cosmetic anodizing that one can do with a DIY kit, and Type III hard anodizing like is used on AR15 receivers and a lot of other stuff. If you want wear resistance (which a trigger guard certainly needs) you need type III hard anodizing, which can not effectively be done at home, and fewer anodizing companies can do it.

I wish I knew of a good source of hard anodizing for small jobs; it would make some of these "in the white" 80% AR lowers a lot more appealing. I haven't found anyone who takes small jobs though, seems like you need to have an "in" already to get your parts added with a larger batch.

If you go with this kit and their recommendations, you’re going to be in over $1000.

I’d do it but, it’s another service to learn with a relatively high startup expense, plus the time learning to get it right.
