Where do you guys live? Tell me about your neighborhoods? I need to commute to Seattle for work and that's something I need to keep in mind. I've been researching a lot but I've given myself information overload. Help me out WAfam.

Now is the time to buy. market is soft and you have little competition.

The further south or north you get more bang for your buck.

Whatever you do, avoid Burien, Kent and White Center.

You know where I live. I know a guy that lives west of the highway from me and he regularly takes the 594 bus from Tacoma into downtown Seattle to work. He says it's quicker than the heavy rail.

I also know a couple people that live on Bainbridge and take the ferry everyday. Of course it all depends on what you want to be surrounded with in a neighborhood. If you transferred or went to work for another employer in the same field, it would widely open your options. I know a VP of a local business in your field if you ever need a reference.

If you don't like Sound Transit, then stay outside the line.

I had similar requirements but 1) outside people's republic of king county 2) north of seattle (I-5 is better going north) 3) preferably unincorporated. My agent was able to show me options in Snohomish and here I am living the dream.

Forgot: 4) reasonable distance to a park and ride

Mercer Island has a great commute to either Seattle or Bellevue and no bum crisis. Also best property value retention and appreciation in the region.

There’s some uninhabited islands in the Caribbean that are starting to look fairly inviting

For Seattle commute buy in Lynnwood. The north sound transit station is being built there. Already have the Lynnwood park and ride. Easy access to shopping and amenities. It hasn't completely exploded in price and it's still a bedroom community. We used to live right by I-5 off the 44th exit.

I-5, 405, 524, 527, 522, highway 9. For north end travel Lynnwood is pretty much the hub.

Sumner. Sounder runs through it. Walking distance to Sounder possible from a goodly portion of Sumner

I'm not sure why anyone would want to live south of Stanwood on the West side of this state. Icky poo. Long drive to Seattle though.
