This deal is back on for $12.

https://www.amazon.com/LifeStraw-Person ... r=8-7&th=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006QF3TW4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006QF3TW4?tag=gunpl-20

They're normally $20,seems like a pretty good deal.

Just a word to the wise. I bought a 5 pack of lifestraws at Amazon back in August. Last month I got a notice from Amazon and a refund because they had determined that the product was a fake and asked me to just dispose of the items.

Thought that was a pretty good of Amazon to be pro-active like that.

Their customer service is one of the reasons I do a TON of shopping with them. I bought a supposedly used optic, and the battery was missing. I contacted them, and they gave me a credit for the value of a 12 pack of batteries ($12). I told them I only needed a couple for about $2-3, and they said OK you are still getting a $12 credit. :thumbsup2:

I got Lifestraw from the 'Zon awhile back before I went on a trip to the Philippines. It was worthless. A $3 hooker couldn't suck anything through it. A Shop Vac maybe, but it caved in my ears . YMMV.

My understanding is that you have to soak it prior to using it so the membrane is saturated. Then you can suck water through it.

I have a couple and used one exclusively on a 50 miler in the Redwoods. I love it. I used a dirty bag(small) on that trip and wish I would have purchased the larger bag before leaving. Now I have 3 large bags and rigged a gravity system for it which filters into 1 and 2 quart canteen bags. Great product and most of my troop uses them as personal filters.
