I was looking at the ProMag M&P Shield 9mm 10 round magazines and they seem to have mixed reviews. Anyone had good luck with them or should I stick with stock S&W 8 round mags? Pro/Con?

I would just get one from a good company, and save the receipt. I've had both good, and bad mags from pro mag.

As a rule, I steer clear of promag. Unless I want a mag to practice clearing failures.

I haven't tried them out yet, but I did hear positive things about Hyve extensions. I bought a couple, but haven't tried them out yet myself.

ProMag is hit or miss...I'd stick to factory mags, especially if this is for defensive carry.

Promags are great for malfunction drills :wink05:

All my promags have been great except for the 15 round 1911 mag.

Exactly my experience. I've sold or given away all Pro Mags I've owned.

I'd stick with the stock 8 round mag. If 8 rounds in a Shield isn't enough then buy a CZ75 SP-01 and have 20 rounds in you hand.

Better yet, carry both :thumbsup2:

Thanks for the humorous feedback. Pretty much lines up with what I saw for other reviews. I’ll stick with the Shield 8 round mags for EDC (on order).:thumbsup2:

You could give me anything made by Promag. Most of their mags seem spotty at best.
