Order the lower when it's on sale with free shipping, and have it sent to your local FFL for the BGC/transfer. Then order the upper of your choice when it's on sale with free shipping, and have it sent directly to your house. That way you don't pay the tax man any more than you have to, and you get the configuration you want. Shouldn't cost you more than $800 if you do it right.

The Gen 2 got the Rob nod, can't imagine that adding more forged parts into an already successful model would cause it any harm. Crossed fingers here.

I always feel “off” doing transfers, I prefer to order but in PSA’s case it seems like a transfer is the only way . I always feel like I am cheering out my LGS when I do a transfer.

They cut back two of the lugs on the bolt in order to facilitate gliding over the feed lips on the magazines. Feed ramp has been enlarged to one large notch. I think they enlarged the gas port, too. Bolt stop tangs were added into the magwell which also limits/regulates how far the mags can be inserted into the well. I think that's everything...

You are referencing the KS-47. We're talking about the PSAK-47 GF3. I'll take one of each comrades. https://palmettostatearmory.com/psak-47 ... 50362.htmlhttps://palmettostatearmory.com/ks-47-a ... ks-47.html

For regular guns that you can buy anywhere (Glock, Ruger, whatever), you can always talk to your LGS and see what their price is, and then buy from them if it's reasonable. For Palmetto brand guns or other oddball stuff, a transfer is really the only way. And, your LGS is making the rules -- they're the ones that decide IF they'll do transfers, and if so how much they'll charge you. If you then do a transfer through them, I don't see it as a bad thing; they're making the amount of money on it that they choose to make, and it gets you into the store where maybe you'll buy something else!

One benefit of buying a gun in person at your LGS is that you can check it for the commonly known defects of that particular firearm. Buying online means that you are stuck with whatever has been shipped to your FFL. Both have their benefits. Overall I like ordering online and keeping a solid relationship with my local FFL.
