Not a chance in hell. I'd go to Cabela's first, and that's pretty low in my book.

My office shares a parking lot with them, they're still open, but I haven't been in there for probably well over a year, and have no plans to go. Kinda sucks, it was nice to be able to stroll over at lunch and take a look at whatever new things they had.

The King of Spam keeps emailing me and I think he changed his provider or sender because it bypassed the filter I made to auto trash his mails.
You can always tell when there's someone new on the gun alias at work when they ask about this place or mentioned they stop by there. Then about 100+ people jump down the guy's throat and let him know the backstory.

Didn't see a thread for this place so I'll open one up. Didn't want to post it in their sub-forum because the moderator there is the store and they might delete this post.

A few years ago their prices were pretty good. Over the years I've purchased several pistols and rifles from them at different price points. They never had super rare stuff and occasionally I had issues with staff attitudes. The owner also seemed kind of smug and condescending and I found I often preferred shopping there when he wasn't in the store as he had sometimes made rude comments about inquires on pricing or other questions. Definitely not the most welcoming environment for those new to firearms.

Over time OE/Sportco and FWDG started beating them more and more on price. Ammo was never that great a deal compared to Walmart or Ammoseek.

Some issues I had with this shop for business stuff were:
telling me they had something over the phone, driving down there and suddenly its out of stock but look at this! classic bait and switch
taking customers out of order even when I had been in there first and waiting for help and then ignoring me when I pointed it out
condescending attitude towards new shooters with lots of questions
got nasty when asked to dry fire a pistol ONE TIME that I wound up buying, and they didn't even offer snap caps for customers to use

And now the elephant in the room:
Earlier in 2018 the owner decided to appoint himself the de-facto ambassador of the "gun community" and offer a bogus compromise where he wanted to trade raising the age to buy common semi automatic rifles with a nebulous promise not to ban them or magazines. He then said his store was going to enact this policy. He also said he'd make exceptions for 18-20 year olds who had made it through basic training/bootcamp/etc. Not only was this age discrimination, this was also disability discrimination too for all the 18 year-olds who could not join the military due to disability. He then started trying to say 'well, the parents can buy it and then do what they want with it' with an obvious implied reference for advocating straw purchases for parents to their children, which is both legally shocking for an FFL to say and also discriminatory to those who don't have living parents or who have anti-gun parents.
I tried reasoning with him and left a review on Yelp which he got removed when Yelp scrubbed all recent reviews due to his media blowup. He ignored my specific issue of 18 year olds who cannot join the military for medical reasons and left a garbled, misspelled response repeating his nonsensical approach.
I would strongly urge everyone to avoid this business. We do not need to enrich anyone who seeks to reduce the number of gun owners. Not only are 18 year olds adults who are legally responsible for themselves, but they can be drafted to die for their country. They should have the same self-defense rights as a 21 year old. Also, restricting 18-20 year olds will put more young people off of gun ownership and shrink our voting pool which will have bad gun control implications down the road. Do we really want to alienate 18-20 year old voters?

"Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm -- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves." – T.S. Eliot

"The right of self defence is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any colour or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction." - St. George Tucker

"To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the lawless will allow...

For society does not control crime, ever, by forcing the law-abiding to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals. Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding." - Jeff Snyder

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.
