It doesn't come up listed as stolen, but the circumstances have me wondering... Anyone know of a stolen 4" Smith and Wesson Mod. 28, a good bit of finish wear and very distinctive plastic fake stag grips.

Thanks
Bill R

Do you suspect that you have a stolen firearm?

Does it have a trigger and say Smith and Wesson on it?

:ROFLMAO:

There were like 5 million made. You *might* need to be more descriptive.

Its a long shot, but I haven't seen a ton with the white plastic fake stag grips. And it's not the normal kind of firearm we find under these circumstances. I'm used to seeing Glocks and hipoints. It's more like

Its been entered into evidence, but if it is an unreported stolen and there is a chance of finding the owner, I'd rather that than have it get melted down or whatever.

Thanks!

Bill R.

Why does the OP think this is stolen? More info is helpful. A partial serial number would be useful. A photo would be useful...

How can I help you, and/or make you smile, today?

The problem with being on social media, is that you know too many people that you don't know. (And yes, you can quote me on that. LOL)

I'm upset no one is quoting me any more in their sig lines. I need to say something stupid/crazy again. Let me get another drink so that I can work on that. ~golddigger14s

I doubt that he’s law enforcement. It would be VERY out of place for someone in law enforcement to come on the internet and advertise about a gun that may have been stolen, is currently in evidence, and could be “melted down or whatever.”

Sorry, no suspect needed, already got that part covered! It was recovered, and amazingly, none of the individuals at the scene knew anything about it. it just ended up dropped under the car seat by the gun fairy, or beamed down by Scotty, or spontaneously self assembled at the atomic level from constituent molecules or whatever.

It just wasn't the ordinary sort of firearm found like this, and while we can stack up Hipoints and Lorcins all day long without me getting super worked up, I'd hate to see a nice old Smith in there if it was taken from someone who either hadn't reported it stolen, or more likely, didn't know the SN when they reported it. I thought the grips were unusual enough to make it worth a shot asking is all.

Thanks
Bill R

If the owner never shows up for it, then as a service to the Waguns community, I will take on the burden of ownership of said firearm.
