You got a two-day ban, not three, and a couple of others got vacations too. Do you think it was unjustified? Remember, when the rules get violated it not only causes whatever havoc it causes like you see above, but you also require that a moderator spend some considerable time on the problem. Delete your thread, discuss with other mods, send PMs, etc. The mod team makes $0/hour and have personal lives just like everyone else, so when I see rules being willfully ignored (not "gray areas"), it gets me fired up because it has a real effect. We were getting a lot of chit-chat in the classifieds at the time, which was requiring us (mods) to spend a lot of time splitting threads, deleting posts, etc. I finally got fed up with it, and basically did a crackdown -- hence the bans. Normally we'd just delete comments like that, maybe send PMs, whatever. But sometimes we (I?) reach a breaking point, and decide it's time for people to start taking it seriously.
