Safety Razor Shaving

Just stumbled across this site while looking for some of the old schoolish style shaving creams in sample form, picked up 4 samples which is good for 2-4 shave sessions per jar for $8 plus tax and shipping..didnt look through the whole site but looks like they have a ton of gear..and they have a womens section for those of you who have a significant other.

He's shilling a bit for his website--shavenation.com---but his teaching style is worth watching the real time play by play of exactly how it all works.

I was bored and had other things to order. To make the free shipping i decided to try this. Just got it. Really nice heft, just don't like the shorty. Even though it's short it will be nice to try something different.

When you get the hang of how to hold it, the heavy weight will require almost zero effort to shave close. Just let the natural weight lean against your face and presto. Perfect.

It's totally worth it. Hit up the antique shop up by the swap meet on 84th and south Tacoma way for an old razor. I've seen a few there form tiime to time.

Can you use Safety Razor to manscape?

Um, I obviously don't shave my face or need "manscaping"...but I have an excellent aesthetician, Audrey, at InSpa Factoria who waxes everything below the navel (on me) every 2-4 weeks; she does do men's backs and chests and whatever else you want "manscaped" as well. Not sure what the cost would be, but would be a lot safer that random cuts and nicks on your, um, important bits. Just saying.

I've got enough bumps/moles/etc., that make it a challenge.....

This plus one. My beard is so tough that I switched to shaving against the grain years ago- it is the only way I could keep
the 5 O' Clock shadow away till noon. My father and grandfathers all shaved with the safety razors, soap in a cup, etc.
The requirements of international travel and living out of hotels, combined with limited access to normal market items
dictated the use of the Mach 3 types of razor.

OTOH, I just inherited my grandfather's safety razor and a pack of blades. I may give it a try when I have a spare 10
minutes to slice off a mole and stem the blood flow!

I stopped shaving the day after my wedding 3 years ago. Haven't been clean-shaven since. I just keep my facial hair to a dull roar with a small electric clipper. Takes about 2 minutes and I only have to do it every 2-3 days. My wife likes the scruff, so it's a win-win.
